perl: warning: Setting local failed.

If you are experiencing the following warnings :

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.

perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:

LANGUAGE = (unset),

LC_ALL = (unset),

LANG = "en_US.UTF-8"

are supported and installed on your system.

perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory

locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory

locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory

This is a warning to let you know that you have not set your current locale or locales.

If you are using english, you only have to run (as root)

# locale-gen en_US.UTF-8

This will generate a locale and you will no longer see the warnings.

You may specify other languages and format sets if you wish as well.
